Organic and all-natural, these candles are made from wax processed from haze fruits. The wick is made using washi (Japanese paper), Igusa grass, and cotton. These candles are made in Japan using a technique called Tegake-seiho in which wax is applied layer by layer around the wick. The box contains 3 pieces. Warosoku are made using the ancient Japanese technique of “Tegake-seiho,” wherein the wax is applied in sequential layers around the wick. Handmade from 100% Natural and Organic Materials The candles are made from haze, a Japanese fruit. Haze has been used in Japan for centuries to make wax for Warosoku (Japanese candle). Haze is also known as “Japanese wax tree fruit” for its excellent qualities as an ingredient for making candles. The wick is made of wash (Japanese paper), Igusa grass, and cotton, which are all sourced locally from Japan. The candles are naturally colored. As these candles are entirely plant-based, they’re less likely to drip and release soot.
