Founded in 1798, Tobermory is the only whisky distillery on the Island of Mull and one of Scotland's oldest commercial distilleries. It sits at the centre of the vibrant island community that gave it its name. Tobermory's past, however, is as colorful as the city's waterfront. A sawtooth story marked by closures and financial problems has, on more than one occasion, threatened its existence. Yet, thanks to his creativity and dedication, Tobermory overcame his difficulties. After its last interruption of production for essential maintenance and renovation works, the Tobermory distillery reopened its doors in 2019 and restarted its stills. Under the name Tobermory Distillery, this artisanal Hebrides distiller now produces Tobermory and Ledaig single malts and, for the first time in its history, Tobermory Gin. For our 18 year old Ledaig whiskey, expect a rich, fruity nose of smoked sherry, with a nice balance of phenols, seaweed, dried chili, spicy black pepper and notes of sweet oak. On the palate, discover powerful and rich flavors: sherry, smoked, herbaceous, orange peel, coffee, a touch of sea salt, tobacco and white pepper. The finish is long and quite pungent with more smoke, licorice and spray
