Merco M226 Non-Detectable Underground tapes provide an early warning when digging before reaching a depth that could cause damage or injury to a line or worker. When we first sourced our M225 and M226 Underground Tapes we insisted on three things: quality, price and that all of our underground tapes be printed with non-leaded inks. The purpose of underground tape is to prevent the next guy from hitting your installation and for him to know just what type of work was completed on the previous installation. And you want that to be true for decades. Lead degrades underground tapes and after only a few years all you get is black ribbon. But not with Merco M225 and M226 Underground Tapes. Stocked in 5 standard APWA approved colors: Blue for Water related lines, Yellow for Gas (always a good thing to know), Green for Sewer and Sanitary, Orange for Fiber Optic, Telephone and Communications and Red for Electrical. Merco M226 Non-Detectable Underground Tape is similar in quality and performance to Scotch 300 series.
